Description
Milk Lad limited edition print is one of the earliest works by P. Buckley Moss we have available in our gallery. Pat’s early children art is recognizable by the delicate faces and precise lines of the fingers. Look closely and you’ll see how she added a tiny shaft of wheat the male figure is holding in his mouth; the early shaped milk cans held like a badge of early morning hours of work with the cows and chores at hand. Pat always loved reddish curls and the over exaggerated brim on the hats of her amish male figures. As she moved into the Shenandoah Valley and became acquainted with her Amish friends and neighbors, she grew so much respect for how they managed their tasks and how they associated with others; helping, caring and always lifting up and encouraging everyone. Pat started incorporating the Amish and Mennonite into her artwork and this is what gave her the boost she needed to start selling her art with force. Know as the artist that paints the Amish, she evolved into so much more. Now you will see her works portray beautiful landscapes with tress only she could create on paper; lifelike and realistic. She was very efficient in painting animals, flowers and her Rowhouses and architectural buildings with tiny outlined bricks have been breathtaking over the years. I encourage you to browse our P. Buckley Moss inventory and all the subjects and wonders held in Moss works.
