Seasons of Faith Set, 2001
Winters Faith features Mathews Baptist Church in Hudgins, Virginia. Preaching for this congregation began in 1771, and the name of Mathews Baptist Church was first recorded in 1791. Image Size: 8-3/4 x 11-1/8 inches. Paper Size: 13 x 14-5/8 inches.
Autumns Faith features the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. Built in 1863, this picturesque church was painted brown because only mineral-based paint was affordable during wartime. After the war ended, it was never repainted white as originally planned. Inspired by the church, William Pitts wrote the song Little Brown Church in the Vale. Over 300 weddings are held there every year. Image Size: 8-3/4 x 10-7/8 inches. Paper Size: 13 x 14-5/8 inches.
Springs Faith features Eylers Valley Chapel in Sabillasville, Maryland. Built in 1857, this unique church takes visitors back in time. The one-room chapel nestled in the Mountains is without electricity. Seventy-eight candles provide glowing light, a treadle organ provides the music and two large gas heaters give warmth. The church is well-known for the 20 worship services held the 11 nights prior to Christmas. Image Size: 8-3/4 x 11 inches. Paper Size: 13 x 14-5/8 inches.
Summer’s Faith features a church from the imagination of the artist. Pat loved painting rural America and often included country churches in her finished artwork. Image Size: 9-1/2 x 10-3/4 inches. Paper Size: 13 x 14-5/8 inches.
